Aladdin Trip

Aladdin Field Trip
Posted on 02/04/2019
On Friday, January 25th, Dance, Dance Repertory, and Drama Club students took a field trip to New York City with chaperones Mr. Chuba, Ms. Hong, and Mrs. Miller. They participated in a Song and Movement workshop with Mike Cannon, current Dance Captain of Aladdin, who taught our students the Opening Number “Arabian Nights.” They met Telly Leung, Aladdin himself, for a Q and A session. Mr. Leung and Ms. Hong were former castmates in various productions including Red Bucket Follies last month.

Students also toured Midtown Manhattan viewing landmarks such as Radio City, Central Park, Columbus Circle, Carnegie Hall, TKTS Booth, Times Square, Empire State Building, and the Chrysler Building. They enjoyed dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe before attending Aladdin and meeting cast members at the stage door for pictures and autographs. Mr. Leung introduced our students to Deonte L. Warren who played Genie.

This trip was made possible by the Foundations In Education Innovations Grant which was awarded to Ms. Hong last year.
